Terms of Service for CyberShieldScan

Last updated: 2026-02-23

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By using CyberShieldScan, requesting a scan, or accessing scan results, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service Scope (Automated Scan and Reporting)

CyberShieldScan provides automated security scanning and reporting tools. The service is designed to help identify potential issues and improve visibility into publicly reachable security posture.

CyberShieldScan is not a guarantee of security, not a replacement for secure development, patching, monitoring, backups, incident response, or professional penetration testing, and not an insurance product.

3. No Guarantee of Security or Attack Prevention

We build and operate the scanner on a best-effort basis, but we do not guarantee that:

  • all vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, or exposures will be detected;
  • scan results are complete, error-free, or always current;
  • a scanned website, application, or environment is safe or secure after a scan;
  • hackers, malware, abuse, or future attacks will be prevented.

Security risk cannot be eliminated entirely. Scan results are point-in-time observations and may become outdated as code, infrastructure, dependencies, and threat activity change.

4. Authorized Use Only

You may only scan systems you own or systems for which you have explicit permission from the owner. By starting a scan, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to do so.

You are responsible for any claims, losses, or consequences arising from unauthorized or unlawful use of the service.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • Review and validate findings before acting on them.
  • Apply remediation, patching, and configuration changes at your own discretion and risk.
  • Maintain your own security program, monitoring, backups, and incident response processes.
  • Use the service in compliance with applicable law and third-party terms.

6. Availability and Changes

We may change, improve, limit, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, response times, or compatibility with every target environment.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CyberShieldScan is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CyberShieldScan and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of revenue, profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising out of or related to use of the service or reliance on scan results.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the 12 months preceding the event. If you used a free scan, this amount is zero.

9. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, limit, or terminate access if we suspect abuse, unauthorized scanning, fraud, security risk, or violations of these terms or applicable law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted on this page. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
